Painting our piano

Our piano has been painted a few times now…but I felt like the yellow piano did not fit with the room.

I have heard painting a piano is not necessarily a best practice in keep the sound quality, however, neither is putting a piano on an exterior wall and we had done that for years too. Either way, its good to avoid sanding a piano. Velvet Finishes was a nice option because it does not require sanding.

This time I used Velvet Finishes by Kellie Smith and the system was so easy to use!

First I used their Ready product that cleans the surface (no sanding!)

After that dried, I literally just started painting! I used the color Ethereal (and its 20% off right now…)

I did two coats to make sure I got complete coverage and then used VF Protect to help protect again knicks.
