what i read in 2018

This is partially for you. Partially for me. I finally read some books this past year & I can honestly say I enjoyed every book on the list - otherwise I wouldn’t have finished it.

I am staring my favorites & I’ll try to write a little blurb too. I can attribute reading all these to the books on tape - check your library! This is super helpful. And joining a book club - which helped push me to read more.

***Dancing with Max / Emily Colson

  • I got to meet Emily at a graduation party this year - she is a phenomenal human being. If you love someone with a disability…care about people with disabilities…want to support a friend that is a parent of someone with disabilities…this is a great read.

**Everybody Always / Bob Goff

  • I didn’t LOVE his first book, but this one is a great! And I wish I had the guts to have a parade for my neighbors.

**The Boston Girl / Anne Diamant

  • I love books about where I live - this is a great one! Historical fiction.

The Great Alone / Kirsten Hannah

  • Listened on book on tape. Very fascinating, heart-wrenching story.

This is Where you Belong / Melody Warnick

  • This is based in the town I grew up in. Really great book if you are trying to figure out how to love where you live.

The Art Forger / B.A. Shapiro

  • Very interesting story on the Isabella Gardner museum heist! Fiction, but the heist is super interesting if you haven’t read about it - look it up!

Braving the Wilderness / Brene Brown

  • Everything Brene writes about is compelling - this is no exception.

Girl, Wash Your Face / Rachel Hollis

  • good kick in the pants book

A Simplified Life / Emily Ley

  • Helpful….not life changing for me. Its a pretty book though.

The Woman in Cabin 10 / Ruth Ware

  • A good creepy read

100 Days to Brave / Annie Downs

  • great devotional - highly recommend!

Raising Kind Kids: And Get Respect, Gratitude, and a Happier Family in the Bargin / Thomas Lickona

  • Helpful - very good read!

Good Harbor / Anne Diamant

  • Another good local read - Good Harbor is a beach North of Boston. Anne Diamant is very talented author.

**Orphan Train / William Morrow

  • Historical fiction might be my favorite subject. Very sad & interesting time in our country’s history.

One & Only / Emily Giffin

All We Ever Wanted / Emily Giffin

The Sacred Enneagram / Christopher L. Heuertz

First Comes Love / Emily Giffin

**The Middle Place / Kelly Corrigan

  • True story of a woman sandwiched between the time of caring for her kids & caring for her aging parents, while fighting cancer. I really loved this one too.

**Cozy Minimalist / Myquillin Smith

  • Great home read! Helpful, practical advice.

**Before We Were Yours / Lisa Wingate

  • Same topic as Orphan Train…also very good historical fiction

**The Diary of Jasmine Grace: Trafficked. Recovered. Redeemed.

  • A local woman who was sex-trafficked. Very powerful & a good read to understand the world of sex-trafficking & drug abuse

Me Before You / Jojo Moyes

  • I like this story until the end. UGH! Tell me if you have read it.

The Girl on The Train / Paula Hawkins

  • This is similar to a the next book and the cabin 10 book, but I really liked it a lot.

The Woman at the Window / AJ Finn

  • This was probably my favorite thriller of the year. So suspenseful!
