how to declutter your mind : morning pages
/While working through the simplicity experiment & also making some life changes, I have found my mind to be one of the most cluttered places in my life right now.
Anxious thoughts spin through my mind...throughout the day and sometimes night too.
I stumbled upon an idea to try to clear my head that I have tried & really enjoyed called Morning Pages.
What are morning pages you ask?
Morning Pages are three notebook pages of longhand, stream of consciousness writing done first in the morning. And guess what? They say there is no wrong way to do them.
1. Simply write anything that comes to your mind.
2. This is not a to do list & they are not meant to be shared.
Morning Pages provoke, clarify, comfort, cajole, prioritize and
synchronize the day at hand. Do not over-think Morning Pages: just put
three pages of anything on the page...and then do three more pages tomorrow.

I have always liked journaling - so for me - this is perfect & right up my alley.
I have tried this idea for the past two months and I do not have time to do it every day, but I really am enjoying the exercise. If I get one page, thatβs still great. As a mom, I feel like it is a small victory to do something to care for myself. Sometimes I will journal prayers - or just start listing things I am grateful for.
PERKS...
I think in our fast past world where technology is everywhere it feels like a great way to disconnect and not be so fixated on producing something. Give yourself the gift of being still and alone with your thoughts.
So that's it.
Morning pages! Hope you'll give it a try and it will encourage you too!
