Choosing Exterior Hardware for our French Doors
/This post is sponsored by Nostalgic Warehouse, but all opinions are my own.
Since we moved into our fixer upper five years ago, I knew we wanted to add a deck and a door to the deck. Two years ago we added a deck and we couldn’t decide what to do for the door and finally settled on french doors that would both open. We have a traditional home and I felt like a french door fit the style of the home.
Next, I knew we needed some traditional hardware to fit with the rest of the home. We had used a Nostalgic Warehouse door knob on an interior door and I loved the quality, durability and style of their products.
Here is our living room interior and our exterior before…
I won’t go into details with how to do this project because we hired it out since you’ll need a header and to cut into the brick.
And here is the after…
We went with the New York Entry Set with New York Knob in Unlacquered Brass. I love the long plate and the clean lines. I also love that Nostalgic Warehouse products are made from solid forged brass for durability and beauty.
We put the deadbolt on the active door, but I like the look of the two knobs paired together so we did a dummy knob (meaning it's really just there for show) in the same New York style Knob.
We chose the unlacquered brass that will patina over time and match the beautiful old brass knobs in our home.
Let me know what you think of the project and if you have any questions in the comments!
