Why We Chose the Goalrilla Basketball Hoop
/Goalrilla Basketball is sponsoring this post, but all opinions are 100% my own.
We decided to give our son a basketball court for his birthday this year. He loves basketball and we don’t have a driveway space so he often shoots baskets at my parents’ house.
About five years ago, we gave my dad a basketball hoop so everyone could play basketball together. I am not going to share a picture of this budget hoop we bought, but within five years, the headboard is cracked and the post is showing signs of wear.
My husband and I knew we wanted to invest in a hoop that would last through our kids growing up and hopefully beyond that. We did a LOT of research into hoops. My son is pretty big for his age and I didn’t want the hoop to fall apart within a few years.
Here are a few reasons we went with the Goalrilla FT60…(60 by the way is the headboard size and it is a nice mid-size backboard - not like the pros, but hopefully will help minimize the balls landing in neighbors’ yard!)
Why we chose Goalrilla:
The biggest selling feature for us, was Goalrilla makes a 5”x5” square post that is proven to handle wear and tear much better than smaller posts.
Lots of other brands’ post shake when the ball hits the hoop and the larger square post alleviates the shaking
Adjusting the height is easy with the one-piece (and great for all ages to use!)
The hoop is an inground system so it’s more stable, but it still can be moved in the future if we move.

Our neighbors had put a basketball court in their yard in the 90’s and said, this was the best investment we made in our home because our kids’ and their friends enjoyed it so much. I hope this will be a place our kids’ and friends’ can gather for many years to come.
Let me know if you have questions about the Goalrilla system! I am happy to update as time goes on.
