Cape Charles, Virginia Things to do

With finishing The Peach House and celebrating one year of Summer Camp, I thought it would be fun to share some of our favorite Cape Charles places.

Around Town…

  • Beach, anytime, but particularly sunset or any low tide time is my favorite

  • The LOVE sign is a fun photo op - my kids insist we go every trip

  • Central Park - if you stay at our Peach house - you can see the park from our home! If you have young kids, there is a playground and we love to bring scooters to do laps in the park.

  • Stroll the downtown shops - Peach Street Books is a fave, Chessie’s toy shop, KCOAST, Table and Tonic…

  • If you love old homes, you’ll love strolling the streets of the historic district. Homes built from the 1800s to the early 1900s & lots of examples of unique architecture!

  • Renting a golf cart - if you stay at The Peach House, we have one available to rent

  • Kiptopeke State Park (short hikes - the beach is beautiful here)

Breakfast

  • We loved the Almeta below Hotel Cape Charles! They have added a new restaurant called Sonny’s.

  • Rayfield’s Pharmacy is fun to step back in time and enjoy a meal there! The breakfast is delicious!

  • We haven’t gone yet, but I have heard great things about Northampton Hotel’s breakfast.

Lunch or Dinner

  • Deadrise Pie is my favorite pizza - highly recommend!

  • Cravings (inside Table & Tonic) makes delicious to go sandwiches & salads

  • The Shanty (good seafood with a view)

  • Hook at Harvey (no kids under 12)

  • AJ’s Bar and Grill - we love the location of this (on Peach Street), American Food

  • Cape Charles Brewery - I prefer the beer to most food I have tried, but do recommend the burgers.

  • Mason Ave Bakery - Delicious sandwiches and breakfast options and sweets!

  • Cape Charles Distillery - No kids :)
