Girls' Room Transformation: Part one

When we moved into this home in 2019, I was pregnant with Evie and hoped she would be be a girl to create a girly room for her and her sister. I put up cute puppy wallpaper, but I just did an accent wall. For the last year, I have told them their room was on the lift of things we were going to do next.

The growing girls really needed a little more space for storage as Carter is almost a teenager and Evie is now six. I also was ready to ditch the accent wall. I totally get it - wallpaper can be a little pricey - and its easier to do one wall like I did, but the look of the whole room wallpaper is what I really wanted for a cohesive look.

Philip decided he was ready to try to build a cabinet and I am hoping this is his new hobby.

We looked a bunch of samples from Spoonflower because the selection is incredible.

My oldest had her heart set on stripes and this allowed us to keep the color scheme and the rug, but I’m still thinking about some of these prints because they are so good!

On to wallpapering….the amazing, Jamie at Spectrum Paint helped me wallpaper….okay - I helped Jamie wallpaper (let me know if you want her contact info!).

This was the vision. I love using Canva to pull together items to visualize if it will work. Cathy, also at Spectrum Paint, helped me pick Stratton Blue for the trim and built-ins. I really didn’t want to go monocromatic and I also didn’t want it feel like a circus. She helped wrangle my vision and bring it to life.

More to come, but this is the direction we are headed….
